The machine relies on crawler belts to scoop up rocks and scrapes them into its own scraper conveyor through the bucket. The conveyor unloads rocks from the tail into other reloading equipment such as side dump mine cars, skips, belt conveyor shuttle mine cars, etc. At the same time, the backhoe digging arm can be used to pick up rocks in the distance, and the bucket can also be used to clean the working face and section for risk removal and ditch digging.
